My elderly (15) kitty has had some teeth pulled and she really prefers pate style wet food. I prefer to feed her high-quality food, but a lot of it tries to make the food resemble the ingredients, and she then tends to eat the gravy and not the chunks. She gets powdered meds with her food, so I want her to eat it all. This stuff is excellent top quality, very moist pate with a bit of oil to it, and she gobbles it down.
By the way, anyone with an elderly cat who is concerned about kidney problems (other than cancer, the biggest cause of death from disease in cats), ask your vet about something called Renavast. When Sophie's kidney values started to climb, my vet put her on it it's new, natural, and stabilizes kidney function in about 85% of cats. I just had her 6-month bloodwork done and it looks like it's working happiness! Mind you, nothing will *reverse* loss of kidney function, but if you can catch it early enough to make a difference, try this stuff. It comes in powdered capsules you sprinkle on the food. I mix it in and she doesn't seem to know it's there. The makers sell it online, too, so you don't have to get it from your vet. The biggest problem is availability, as it's the only thing that's ever actually worked for this problem, so there is a huge demand.
