First off, I will say that when I bought this to try with my cats I did NOT know it was made by Purina. I would not have purchased it had I known. It does NOT state this on the bag ANYWHERE.
When I first transitioned our 7 cats over to this they loved it. I noticed that they were eating three times as much of it as they had their previous dry food which was Innova. Normally the cats are free fed dry food and they share 2 cans of wet food in the morning and 2 in the evening. After they were fully transitioned over to the Canyon Creek Ranch they stopped eating their wet food. Seriously, 7 cats would finish off MAYBE 1 can. This seemed really odd to me because normally they loved the canned food (which is better for cats anyways) and nibbled on the dry food here and there.
This continued for several days. Then the vomiting started. I woke up 2 days ago and had to scrub no less than a dozen spots off the floors. The weird thing was though that they were not vomiting the actual cat foodit was the little dried pieces that are in the mix (potato and zucchini I believe?) or just piles of spit with a few of the potato/zucchini chunks mixed in. At first I thought maybe it was just one cat, so I kept and eye out over the next 24 hours and ended up realizing it was ALL of the cats but one. After scrubbing another dozen or two spit up/vomit spots out of my carpet, I tossed this food and went and bought something else.
I don't know what is wrong with this food. Whatever additives are in it are obviously like cat crack because my canned food loving cats were eating a TON of this stuff and ignoring the "good" wet food. But, whatever is in this obviously has an effect on the cats systems because when 6 out of 7 cats are puking this stuff all over the house, you know something is wrong. Nothing else was changed about their diet during this period and all of the cats appear healthy and "normal" otherwise.
So, one star from me and I would advise against this food.
