I have two adult Maine Coon male litter mates, Jamie and Titus. Jamie is average Maine Coon size, about 18-20lbs, whereas Titus is my micro Maine Coon, last weighing in at 5lbs 11oz. They are 4.5 yrs. While Jamie appears to have a cast iron stomach, poor Titus had been vomiting every night after feeding, since I got them, two mos ago. And I was feeding them good stuff, like Avoderm. It was horrible to watch poor Titus convulse like that, and throw up such a large volume from his tiny body.
So, I took Titus to the vet and his blood work was fine, so the doctor suspected that he just had a very sensitive stomach and prescribed this food. Well, it worked a miracle. Titus barely vomits at all anymore and has been able to put on a much-needed pound or so on his once bony little frame. When he did occasionally vomit thereafter, I traced it to the junk food cat treats I was giving them and stopped those right away. Now they eat Greenies natural cat treats, and as long as I don't give them too many, they never throw them up.
I'm extremely happy with this product, even though it is ridiculously expensive. I'm going to ask the vet if she can think of a suitable replacement that costs a lot less, as I am on a modest income. But it's nice to know that if such a product doesn't work, that we'll have this prescription diet to fall back on.
