Acana Grasslands is one of the only dry kibbles I didn't have to mix into another food (or transition in) for it to be accepted by my one year old cats. They dove right into it.
It's an all breed, all lifestage grain free kibble made by Champion Foods, who also produces Orijen. They are Canadian based and tout having regional meats delivered each day to add into their formula. They utilize regional ingredients and likely, regional suppliers. I'm cool with that.
I mix Acana 50/50 with other high quality kibble as part of my rotation. Acana kibble shape is round and flat. The colour is very dark and if you're transitioning from a light colour food you'll note kitty's darker 'output'.
I believe it's true Acana is more fish based than Orijen, but it's an excellent quality food which I'll continue to purchase. I like to buy the smallest bags available and plan to try Wild Prairie formula next.
