Our vet suggested we get an automated feeder to help with some anxiety issues in one of our two cats. My husband and I ordered the Crown Majestic V2 about two weeks ago. After setting it up, we found two issues. There was a slight crackling from the power supply when it was plugged in, and it dispensed 1/2 cup when it was programmed for 1/4 cup. When we submitted an email from the web site, customer support responded quickly sent us a replacement machine at no cost. I mention the problem in case other people experience the same issue and think the product as a whole is defective. The replacement feeder worked perfectly right out of the box.
We like this product because :
1. It runs on either batteries or electricity.
2. It can be set to dispense 1/4 cup portions.
3. The design provides accurate portions regardless of the kibble size.
4. It is simple to program a feeding schedule.
5. You can easily test the portion size by pressing a button.
6. It is not too loud, and does not wake us up when dispensing kibble overnight.
7. If you don't need the extra storage capacity of the clear globe holding tank, you can just leave the clear tank off and put the black lid directly on the lower console. The lower black tank holds plenty of kibble for our needs.
We have not recorded a message to play at feeding time, and cannot comment on that feature. I would give five stars if our original had not had a manufacturing defect. However, we have been told that the issue is being addressed, and I believe it will be, as this is such a new product. Overall, this feeder is a good value, and has excellent customer service. We are happy with our purchase, and our cats are too.
