My cats are food snobs they only eat seafood and will refuse to eat almost every brand you can find in a supermarket. In looking at the ingredients in those other brands, I understand the sentiment. That stated, my cats LOVE natural Balance. The ingredients are great and they eat multiple flavors without hesitation great option for the more finicky eaters...or those owners trying to limit the amount of poison they feed their pets!
