I'm one of those neurotic cat Moms. There... I said it. I'm a health-nut in my own right, and worry about their nutrition just as much. We have two very different felines, a Maine Coon Mix (Theo) and a traditional Siamese (Remy). They're from opposite ends of the spectrum, and struggle with different issues -Theo is a *large* beast, with a massive coat, and keeping him at a manageable weight is tough; Remy has a sensitive stomach, and allergies to grains.
Holistic Select Indoor Health/Weight Control has proven to be a great choice for both of them because it's grain-free, has just enough of the right fats to give them *gorgeous* coats while still being calorie-controlled, and has a higher protein content (32%) compared to most foods. Plus, they LOVE it. I like that Holistic Select's ingredients are recognizable, and they've even added some supplements that have been used for years as nutriceuticals in the Sport Horse industry. Glucosamine for joints, Biotin and Omega Fatty-Acids for skin and coat health, Preand Pro-biotics to improve digestion and absorption. I also appreciate the added Yucca and Fiber as previous higher-protein diets tended to give my felines *excessively* stinky poo that was *very* hard for them to pass. Holistic Select Indoor Health/Weight Control has been much better.
Is this the perfect, organic ambrosia of feline food that's been blessed by the feline gods to keep this review from getting trolled by every pet-food psycho out there? No. But! It's a damn good product, from a great company, that's a billion times better than most on the market. I'm very pleased that I can feed it confidently to both of my fur-balls (who lick their chops in anticipation), and even my vet notices that they're happier, more active/playful and healthier kitties with gorgeous, show-cat coats. Top notch product.
