I was formerly purchasing another flavor of cat food which my cat didn't like all that much. He just loves this tuna flavor, and amazingly its low in phosphorus. (.62) For those of you with cats that have kidney issues, you know we need to feed them the lowest phosphorus food we can find THAT THEY WILL EAT! Prescription kidney diet foods are about .3-.5 phosphrous, and they are usually mushy pate style and pretty bland. Not that I have tasted it, but the smell is pretty, well, un-smelly. And you know how cats love smelly! This is chunky and has lots of gravy. Yummy. Usually fish is not acceptible, but I double checked on the Tanya's CRF website and called Hills to be sure this was low phosphorus as stated. (sometimes they change formulas without warning). I was getting the larger cans as they were cheaper per ounce, but Jerry would eat half the can in the morning and wouldn't touch the other half in the evening after it had been in the frig. I even tried heating it up after I took it out of the frig. No deal. I was forced to open an entirely fresh can, of which, of course, he only ate half. I was wasting almost a whole can every day. Now I buy the small cans and he gets a fresh one each meal. He's happy, I'm happy, all is good!
