Our elderly dogs have been on a variety of foods in their lifetime. This is the only food that consistently gives them a normal bowel movement. While I don't know why that it is, I am sure it has to do with the enormous amount of indigestible foods in dry dog food. They love this food, and they eat it well. It can be a little pricey buying it as regular food, but it's worth it for their health. It's also very easy for them to eat with their aging teeth.
