Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program It was easy to say Yes to Amazon Vine's offer of this grain-free cat food. Both our cats have been on Science Diet since we were acquired by them. (Surely you don't pretend that cat ownership goes in the other direction?) They started with the kitten formula and graduated to the "original" formula.

Every so often I've tried them on the anti-hairball formulation; the cats are Selkirk Rex, which means long-haired and curly, which you can read as, "My, what impressive hairball presents you leave for me to step in!" But they always seemed "eh" on it ("What ELSE ya got, Mom?") and it didn't seem to make any difference in the hairballs.

Still, a free bag of cat food isn't a bad thing. If they hated it, I could always find a friend with less picky eaters. Really, I shouldn't have worried.

I set out two dishes: one with their regular "original" formula, and another with the new grain-free. Both of them responded as though I'd been starving them. The two cats usually have their own rituals for who-eats-when, but in this case they kept shoving one another out of the way to get to the dish.

It's a week later, and they're still chowing down on this stuff. No problems with it coming out the other end, either. They seem to have settled down to taking it for granted, and now will eat from either the "original" dish or the grain-free mostly equally. I take that as a good thing; cats can be finicky.

The Science Diet verbiage promised: "Prebiotic fibers from beet pulp contribute to good digestive health * Nourishes a radiant and lustrous coat * Supports healthy kidneys, immune system and good vision." Yeah, I guess so. But mostly I have two happy cats. I'll be buying this stuff for them again.
