I didn't buy this because of some false notion of being "green", environmentally friendly, or anything like that... In fact its a bit silly to be marketed as such, considering how dirty the process of making plastics is.
With that said it works extremely well for cats. Its got a good capacity, and the price was right.
It doesn't thread super tight to the base however, so the potential exists for it tipping or becoming separated, creating a spill, if used with a dog, or other pet large enough to bat it around.
For my uses however, it fit the bill.
The lack of one star is because it is not the color as pictured. The description has since been updated to reflect the fact that its blue... but when i got mine, it was with the assumption that it was dark green in color. That doesn't really matter in the long run, but its a pet peeve of mine that products match their image/description, or state that the color will be random, so a buyer knows what to expect.
