We have two cats, both neutered males. One is five and the other is six. Both have had good health, in general, but the youngster came down with a urinary infection. It seems he has a tendency to form crystals in his urinary tract. After a few hundred dollars of diddling around and keeping him under observation for a few days, the doctor said he needed to be maintained on Hill's Prescription Diet C/D for Feline Bladder Health. I guess this diet causes the cat to drink and urinate more, thus avoiding the growth of the little crystals. Well, it seemed to work but after a while I ran out of this very expensive cat food so I went back to giving him the standard food we feed the other cat. Well, his condition returned so back we went to the Hill's C/D food. Evidently, it works and works rather well. It's a pain to feed two cats two different foods, but as long as the little sweetie remains healthy, we'll do it. By the way, the price listed here is high but that seems to be the case everywhere. We used to but the smaller packets but we've now gone to the 8.5 pound bag as a matter of convenience.
