This is one of the least dusty cat litters I've tried, and for that reason I tried both Super Scoop and Multi-Cat before giving up on Arm & Hammer litter. Unfortunately, I have nothing else good to say about this litter.

The Arm & Hammer litter doesn't clump firmly. In fact, it seems to be somewhat water repellent. Instead of being absorbed into a clump, the urine spreads out over the top of the litter in a shallow puddle, which often means the cat gets his feet very wet, distressing him and disgusting me. (And just in case you think this is my fault: I keep 3-4 inches of litter in the box; he's not scraping the bottom.) Once the cat buries his pee puddle, it turns into a structurally unsound litter pancake that crumbles as I try to scoop it out. This means that a box of this litter--which isn't cheap--is completely unacceptable within about three days (our usual litter lasts 7 or 10 days before needing a complete change).

Also, if any urine touches the sides or bottom of a litter box containing this litter, you need the world's strongest human wielding the world's strongest litter scoop to get the gooey, sticky mess out of the box. I'm aware that all clumping litter sticks to the box this way, but believe me, this is extreme. Yes, a liner might prevent the problem...if you have a cat who doesn't tear liners; personally I've never met a cat who doesn't tear liners. If anyone knows where to get such a cat, let me know; I'll get my current cat's successor there someday. In the meantime, I love THIS cat; I just need litter that I can scoop without a crew.

Possibly worst of all is the smell. This litter has an amazingly strong smell that's something like baby powder, only slightly evil. It filled the house, traveling from the room with the litter box into all the other rooms on both floors. Sitting in a meeting or having lunch with friends, I'd be thinking I could smell cat box, and worrying that it was clinging to my hair or clothes. And for all that, it doesn't neutralize or mask the litter box odor. It just mixes with it, and the mix is even stronger than either smell alone. Imagine putting plug-in air fresheners filled with evil baby powder and cat poop in every available outlet. That's the effect using this cat litter had on our house.

If you hate cat litter dust so much that these problems sound like good trade-offs, then you've found your cat litter. Otherwise, I recommend you try something else.
