This product that I purchased on Amazon might be good for winters in the south, but in the north, it will not hold up for very long outdoors in winter. I poured boiling water into receptacle, then placed lid on and it only lasted 4 hours. I am gone to work 11-12 hours a day so my outdoor cats do not have water unless I use an electrical water bowl. I haven't tried it in the summer when it would be nice for the cats to have cool water. I will try this summer though.
