Before picking up this item, I suggest taking a good look at your pet's crate or kennel. My kennel is similar to the Medium cage with crate cover, but without as many horizontal supports. In fact, my crate only has two, leaving a pretty wide space in the middle. Unfortunately that meant that this water dish sits pretty low in my dog's crate. It wasn't a deal breaker, but something to consider.
Also, the bottom lip of the hanger tilts the bowl upward a bit, but it is by no means thin enough to fit through kennel bars. So my only thought with this configuration is that the lower bar is supposed to rest on the kennel's vertical bars. Well, this makes the bowl itself pretty unstable. Just a slight bump and the thing flips upward, spilling the bowl's contents everywhere. This problem was easily resolved for me with the use of a couple of zip ties, but out of the box it caused a couple spills.
Once I had secured the bowl, everything worked fine and the dish was nice and sturdy. Even the enthusiastic lapping of a Malamute barely caused a clank. So far, no issues like rust or broken bits to report. If I could change just one thing, it'd be to have this with a friction plate instead of the hangar design.
