This bowl is the perfect height for my cat, she sits down comfortably and eats. I would definitely recommend raised bowls for them to eat and drink because if it's going to be for life, it might as well be in the best comfort possible, and it doesn't get any more comfortable then eating sitting down! It doesn't tilt or slide either.
