Very disappointed in this product, I even gave them the benefit of the doublt and bought a second Petmate infinity, the first was the Petmate Infinity with the UV LED (Which is a joke in itself for another review)
I've owned many pet fountains on the market over the years from Auto Pet Oasis, to Drinkwells and Catit's, This Petmate infinity, both the infinity UV model and this Infinity model, hands down is the worst pet fountains I've ever owned, the second Petmate infinity broke in less than 24 hours, this is one of the reasons in my opinion Petmate is liquidating them on Amazon, what a great company, knowingly dumping poorly made products on the Amazon crowd.
This Petmate Infinity in a word is terrible, I called the company and flat out asked if there's a product recall, apparently the Petmate has a 'soft' unspoken recall going on for people that call and ask for a refund. Some customers are send a replacement motor, when I inquired about this soft recall and mentioned I have an engineering background, they only would refund my money as they probably knew this replacement motor most likely would result in another complaint, the woman told me my demeanor didn't warrant a motor swap. It's funny, they told me they are a plastic fabrication company and they blame the company that made the motors for their problem, problem is; the box says Petmate, they shouldn't blame anyone else for designing this awful product. Shame on them...
The problem I experienced with BOTH Petmate Infinity fountains I bought is with the nautilus like impeller's seal which simply would unseat from the motor, it's just a bad design.
By the way, I didn't follow through getting a refund, I simply will never buy a Petmate product again, I've seen enough and wouldn't want anything they sell. They can keep my money, I'll simply write this truthful review and let the consumer be made aware of this aweful product.
Last but not least, save your money; if you want a fountain that's built to last and easy to clean, the Catit 55600 is a decent product as are several of the Drinkwell series. Buy one of those and avoid this lemon. Petmate should do the right thing and pull this off the market entirely, rather than liquidate them at a lower price, to me that says they really love their customers.....not
