I have no idea what this manufacturer could have been thinking! Clearly they never actually tried to use it or they would have thrown it in the trash. The only good thing I can say for this carrier is that the size is perfect for a small dog or pet. I purchased this for my 3 pound papillon puppy to take on walks and the size is big enough to fit two of her which means it would work as a adult. I liked the idea of this carrier because I can zip her inside where most carriers there head sticks out and sometimes it can be tricky keeping a wigly puppy inside. The problem with this carrier is it basically has nothing to make it keep its shape. It is just a soft bag and once you put a puppy in it it just collapses. You might as well take a trader joes bag put some straps on it throw your puppy in the bag and you would have the same bag. You can add a board or something on the bottom as it has a pocket but does not come with any thing to hold it stiff. Even if you put a board in the bottom it still won't hold its shape as the top also collapses and it needs a board on the top as well which is tricky because there is ventilation on the top and you do not want to loose that. Also the straps are terrible and the dog falls forward as you walk which makes it very uncomfortable to carry. My husband cut plastic for the top (he had to install with chicago screws) and bottom (fit in the pocket) and put load lifters on the straps so the bag did not fall forward and now it works for us but it took a complete re-engineering of the carrier. If you are not up to that job I would pass on this carrier.
