I've been using Prozyme for over 6 months with great results. Even though my dog is on a raw diet (Ziwipeak), she still sometimes has loose stool; not diarrhea, but still not hard like it should be on raw. We decided to add Prozyme to her food and it's worked wonders. Her stool is always hard (but not to the point it's difficult for her to poop). Sorry I know this sounds like too much information, but there's a reason people buy this product, right?
As I mentioned earlier, I have been using Prozyme but decided to switch to Prozyme Plus. The only difference is Plus does not contain any lactose which is the first ingredient in Prozyme (the regular one with the blue on the bottle). I thought it'd be better for my dog not to have any lactose since that isn't something regularly found in their diet. But for some reason, my dog seems to do better with the regular blue Prozyme than the Prozyme Plus. It isn't causing her any discomfort but I've noticed that her stool isn't as consistent as it was on regular Prozyme.
It all boils down to your pet's allergies and sensitivities. I am NOT saying this is a bad product. There are dogs allergic to lactose so obviously this is a better option for them. For my dog, she seems to do better on the one with lactose, so after I finish with this bottle, she'll be going back to the regular Prozyme. Overall it's a great product. I like that it's flavorless (or so it seems because my dog doesn't seem to notice like she did with the other supplements we've tried) and that it's priced well compared to other supplement products out there.
