I started purchasing the Innova Senior Cat Food after my cat became very finicky about eating the various dry foods presented to him. He immediately took to this food and gained back the 2 pounds that he'd lost while on dry food alone. At first I gave him both wet and dry, but eventually switched to wet exclusively as he had no desire to eat anything else. This food provides all of the necessary nutrients and is rich in fiber, protein and fatty acids. Since putting my cat on this food, I've noticed a decided increase in his activity level, despite his being almost 14 years old. In addition, I've noticed a decrease in vomiting, although hairballs are still an occasional issue. I've yet to find anything that will completely eliminate hairballs, so I'm not deducting any points for this.
My cat loves the turkey and chicken formula, and the addition of essential fatty acids has greatly improved his skin and coat. The formula also includes barley, rice, vegetables and fruits, which are a superb combination for older cats. Please keep in mind that this food is designed to be served at room temperature. Since it requires refrigeration after opening, you'll need to warm it up in the microwave after using it for the first time. Simply put the amount of food you desire on a plate, microwave it for 15 seconds, than stir so as to leave no hot spots in the food.
