There is no point adding yet another ravenous review for this food. Yes, it's great, super healthy, almost cheaper than other foods (cost more but cats eat less), cats love it, the fish variety is a tad stinky but the cat's like it even more. Yes, it makes the coats better, softer, less dandruffs, less shedding, yes the cats that eat that act younger, blah blah blah. You already know that from other review.
But let me tell you a story.
I have a friend that is allergic to cats. Her boyfriend is an animal lover and was quite unhappy about the no pet situation of the appartment they live in together. In consequences, she was quite miserable too. I invited her over to my place, in order to judge how bad her allergy was, i.e. to see how long she could survive at my place, how much time untill her symptoms appear. I have two long haired cat. I feed them Orijen.
There was no symptoms. None. My friend stayed at my appartment with one of my cats on her laps for 5 hours and didn't even sneezed. After some other tryouts with other cats, it turns out my friend is allergic to cat fed on crap. She is not allergic to cats fed on Orijen. I do not know why, is it the fish oil in the food, making the coat better, reducing the dandruffs ? Is there something in the ingredient list that reduce the amount of allergen the cat produces ? Is, on the contrary, the corn in the crappy food to blame for increasing the amount of allergen in the cat's saliva ? No clue.
Needless to say, my friend now has adopted a cat. Both she, her boyfriend, and their new orijen-fed cat (from the pound, btw) are very very happy.
