I've noticed these collars are not advertised as "flea collars" but the herbal scents used in the collars are known to repel fleas. All I know is....they work for us. We use to put those topical treatments on the cats every month. I don't like putting pesticides on our pets so I decided to try something more natural last year. We have four cats and we do take them out to the backyard on leashes. In addition to that, they have an outside enclosure to play in and they spend a lot of time in there during the summer. Last year, we used these collars and put diatomaceous earth on our yard. The cats never had a single flea! So, we ordered four more collars this year. It it's not broke....don't try to fix it.
