I found it surprisingly hard to find one of these bowls. Our dog is a complete slob when she drinks water and splashes it everywhere. This bowl has greatly cut down in the normal mess she makes. It doesn't stop it completely, but I am satisfied with the results. Yes it is hard to empty because of the lip, but I just wipe out the remaining water with a towel, which works just fine. Overall I am happy with my purchase and the price.
