Purina Cat Chow Complete Cat Food 3.15 lb (Pack of 6)

Well, it was time once again to go to the grocery and get another bag of cat food. I used to buy the huge 25 pounders they sell at Cosco, but I worried about feeding the cats out of exactly the same bag for that much of an extended time. What if the food had some deficiency, for example? What if it became stale over such a long time? Well, my problem was partially solved for me by one of my cats (Boo) developing a urinary thingy and having to have a special prescription diet. The other cat (The Fuzz) will gobble down anything and doesn't seem to have a care about what it might taste like. He'll eat anything and has always remained healthy. Hopefully, you have a cat like this. Well, with The Fuzz, I pick up these 3.15-pound bags and I try to switch brands, and types every time. This time I chose Purina Cat Chow Complete Cat Food. Does my way of doing things work? Well, I haven't got a clue, but he always eats whatever kind I give him and has always remained healthy. I have no loyalty to this particular brand or type. It's just a standard grocery store brand and I haven't used this particular kind since a long time ago.

As a weekly treat after their one day fast, I feed my four boys Freeze Dried Bloodworms for Bettas. They are just a weekly treat because they have no nutritional value like their pellets and flakes that I feed them. I am lucky that I have four fish that will eat anything that I put in front of their little snouts. I soak the freeze dried bloodworms in a plastic spoon with a little of their tank water for about 10 seconds. This prevents constipation. Not all bettas will take to freeze dried bloodworms. Some bettas are fussy eaters. LOL! For my boys, they love their bloodworms.

Power Pet Electronic Sliding Glass Patio Pet Door, Large, Regular
Posted by

The dogs love the door and I don't need to worry about other animals getting inside and also regular flap doors can freeze open allowing a lot of cold into a room. The door has issues now after 3 years old and it keeps opening and closing a number of times before it actually stops going up and down, up and down. One time the door did not open to let the dogs in and it was 10 degrees outside. I now have a heating vent near it and extra installation over the whole door during the winter time. I also have a dog shoot that they go through in the winter time so that snow doesn't cover the sensors. The collars are cheap and fall apart as the dogs wear them. They are poorly designed and I have 3 or 4 back-up collars. The better ones are a piece of crap too. All that said, I have made the door work for me with my added precautions and work-arounds. I am ready for a new door and feel the price should be lowered by at least 100 dollars to match the quality and expectations.

Molor Products EZ Store Raised Dog Bowl Blue Each

My dog tends to push her bowl over, around, and play games with it generally when she is hungry and wants to be fed. However, with this bowl, she can't do that. The base holds her canned food so the whole stays in place. The large bowl sinks into place so she can't grab it and bang it around. Easy to clean, easy to move, and absolutely perfect for eating at the right height for a 50 lb girl, I love this product!

Earthborn Holistic Chicken Catcciatori Chicken Dinner in Gravy

on Thursday, January 30, 2014
Oct. 4, 2011 Since I introduced my cats to this food, they have started refusing a number of other cat foods. After introducing it to them, I learned that guar gum and carageenan are not really desirable ingredients in cat food. As such, I have started encouraging my cats to eat some foods without it: Weruva Paw Lickin' Chicken, Tiki Cat Koolina Luau, and Tiki Cat Puka Puka Luau. They still like the Earthborn chicken best. I reduced my star rating per the ingredients I cited earlier.
For further info on cat food, google Lisa Pierson, DVM. I find her writings quite informative.
May 5, 2013 I am reducing my stars on this food (Earthborn chicken) from 3 to 1 for the following reasons:
First, a bit over a year ago or so, I noticed large globs of white powdery like substance in the chicken food (usually light beige color) and also a sizable bit of smooth gray matter/tissue. The company told me they hand mix the food and the powdery substance was probably just not mixed well. They sent me a thermos and packaging and asked me to send them the gray matter for identification and told me they would tell me what they found. They did not tell me what the item was, even after I inquired multiple times. They just ignored my messages. They did send a case of food to my pet store for me related to all of the above, but they did not clearly communicate this to me and it took calls/emails on my end to figure this out.
I also continued to see white powdery stuff in the food. In the last six months or so, I have noticed that the food looks like it has more globby/fatty substance in it --and I don't as much whitish powdery type stuff. I am guessing the globby stuff is to help mix the powdered stuff better into the food. --The globby stuff looks like junk to me, however.
I also read some online reviews stating that some folks' cats have had digestive issues with Earthborn. One of my cats has also had diarrhea that my vet has been unable to figure out (usual fecal test came back negative). I will be doing a PCR (DNA) fecal test (costs over $200) to look for possible infectious agents (cat is indoors, but we're proceeding through the diagnostic steps) per all this. I think I will stop feeding Earthborn food and see what happens. It does have guar gum and carageenan, substances that are known to irritate the digestive tract. I used to think this food looked like people food, but it does not any longer with all the gel crap in it. Very disappointed in this company.
June 16, 2013 have done food trials with this and other foods. It seems that potato starch (in this food) is a likely factor in my cat's diarrhea. Since withdrawal of this food, both my cats' stools are like little tootsie rolls. Another item that causes one of my cats to have diarrhea is tapioca (AKA cassava). Research that I have done indicates that some cats have issues with potato starch and tapioca (both from food company reports, pet owner reports, and per my own food trials).

KONG Extreme Dog Toy, Black

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $15.99
Sale Price: $8.86
Today's Bonus: 45% Off

I got the Extreme Kong (black), because my rat terrier had already torn apart a Classic Kong (red). He goes through plush squeaky toys in no time flat. He has chewed pieces out of one Extreme Kong, but not the other two. What have I learned to keep him from shredding Kongs?
1) Always supervise your dog with this toy (at least until you know how well it will hold up). Yes, the instructions say this. It's not just CYA legal BS. Until you know for SURE that *your* dog can't chew through the Extreme Kong, don't leave him unattended with this toy. (Unfortunately, this means that I can't give it to him in his kennel to alleviate boredom when I leave the house.)
2) If your dog has already destroyed other toys, consider sizing up from the "recommended" size. My dog weighs 25 lb, which is solidly in the "medium" range, but the Large Kong is better for his extreme chewing. The Extreme Kong he tore apart was a Medium. He hasn't managed to tear apart the Large yet.
3) Don't fill it all the way with peanut butter. Stuff the bottom 1/2 2/3 with dry food or treats and the clog the top 1/3 or so with something soft like peanut butter. If you fill the whole thing with something that's impossible to get out without tearing the toy apart, your dog will tear the toy apart.
4) Wash it on a regular basis. I have more than one Kong so I can still use one while the other is being washed. I like to soak mine in warm, soapy water for a few hours before sticking it in the dishwasher. This seems to get it clean even if there's peanut butter in the crevices. Dried on cheese can be a bit harder to clean out (I use the pointy end of a spoon or even a toothbrush to get at those bits).
5) If you notice your Kong is showing wear, replace it. Once it starts to give, your extreme chewer can destroy it pretty fast. Don't let him get that far!
No toy is indestructible, but the Extreme Kong lasts longer than anything else I've found. Read the insert that comes with your Kong and follow the recommendations to keep your dog safe and entertained.

We used this to bulk up an emaciated rescue dog. This has helped fill him out, build muscle and grow a gorgeous coat.
Not a fancy food, but good enough. I have the proof in a healthy, energetic dog with an excellent digestion. Poops twice a day, right on schedule with this chow.
We did try some of the high-end foods at first,as well as homemade, but those seemed to upset his digestion. This one really agreed with him.
Every dog is different, though, so you have to find what works for your beast.
Main point: if you have a dog who needs nutritional extras(more fat and protein) don't be afraid to try this one. This poor dog went from literal skin and bones to sleek and muscled in a few months.

Merrick California Roll Cat Food 3.2 oz (24 Count Case)

My five picky cats really like various flavors of Merrick's canned food, particularly this one. There are several flavors of fish, along with beef, chicken, turkey and duck. I gave only four stars instead of five though, because the picture is misleading here. This isn't really as good a deal as it looks because these are tiny cans. I was ordering several cases of cat food and not paying enough attention to weight.

Gulpy Pet Water Dispenser
Posted by

I've gone through 3 of these. The plastic is cheap and brittle. All 3 have broken around the hinge so it renders the bottle useless. The packaging says something like a lifetime guarantee but when I emailed the company, they were going to charge me about 1/2 the cost of the bottle for replacement bowls. The company did mention something about a redesign with better material but I won't hold my breath.
Pros: Very convenient and easy to use, very leak-proof, one hand operation is possible
Cons: Cheap, brittle plastic breaks easily, needs a clip to secure bottle to bowl as belt clip leaves bottle half flopping around, cannot sit or stand on it's own hand-free

I bought a large bag of this at a pet store on the day we adopted our two cats, I'm an ingredient list reader. These two cats had been through an awful lot and I deemed it necessary to get them back in condition and feeling better.
This food has been enjoyed since day one. They started looking less bedraggled in short order.
I did put them on a rotation diet, they get canned food for dinner and this dry for nibbling. Two very happy cats! So far I have not found another product with such an impressive ingredient list.
I still read labels and have to make a bit of a drive to find this product, but thank Amazon all is needed here is an ingredient list for others to read!

Royal Canin Urinary SO Cat Food 24/6 oz Cans (For Cats
Posted by
Unknown
on Tuesday, January 28, 2014
I also buy this food from my vet. I haven't bought it from Amazon (or anywhere else online) because I don't want to pay for shipping on top of the high price.
One of our cats was diagnosed with crystals in her urine, so our vet put her on a different prescription food to dissolve the crystals (30 days), then put her on Urinary SO for maintenance (the rest of her life, I'm told and she's still young!). She's been on the maintenance diet (Urinary SO) for over a year and a half, and she has perfect check-ups.
We have two cats, and to avoid feeding them in separate rooms (too complicated), we have them both on the same diet, which the vet said is fine. This food is expensive, but they both LOVE it.
The two cats (about 9 pounds each) share 1/2 cup of the dry Urinary SO food in the morning. In the evening, they share a 6oz can of this stuff. We also give them the dry kibble instead of other treats, and they love it. I think they like this food better than anything else we've ever fed them (Wellness, Natural Balance, Professional). These cats aren't particularly finicky eaters, although they didn't love Wellness. Since they're stuck eating this stuff for years to come, I'm glad they love it so much.
This food makes the cats thirsty, so make sure you provide plenty of fresh water. When we run out of cans and have to feed them the dry stuff at both meals, they double-down on the water consumption, so we have to stay on top of refills.
I really want to give this product 5 stars, but it's so expensive, and it's difficult to get ahold of I hate having to go to the vet during their business hours, so I stock up when I go, which is pricey.

I have skimmed over some of the negative reviews here and felt the need to clarify a few things for those of you who are unsure if this product is for you. I have been using it for my fish for several years now and it is a great product. It is important to know this stuff sinks and is for specific fish that tend to either bottom feed or enjoy chasing their food. It is also important to know what kind of fish you have and their feeding behavior before buying this, or any other fish food.
Also keep in mind this product alone should not be used to feed your fish. Flakes and granules can cause health problems for some fish if fed to them exclusively. It is important to work in some live and/or frozen food (the type depending on the fish of course). With that said, a mix of these granules and some flakes work as great in-between meals for my fish.
