I have had the feeder for a few weeks of steady use and find that, once I got it set up, it operated well. However, I am not sure it's putting out the proper amount each time as the food tray tends to fill up. I set it for a cup of food per day for my 10 lb. cat. I am sure she eats at least that much everyday.
Each time I fill the feeder, I find the lid very difficult to lock. The lip of the lid has a thin channel into which the body of the feeder must fit all the way around in order to lock the lid. The sides of the feeder are somewhat warped and so do not fit easily into the lip of the lid.
Initial setup is not terribly intuitive. It took quite some time to get the dosage, timing and day set up properly. The instructions are, likewise, not terribly good.
All-in-all the experience has been mixed. It may take more time to be sure I have the quantity set properly. And the setup gets easier each time. Also, battery life has been very good.
