I began using this product as well as a few other supplements on my vet's recommendation in conjunction with a raw diet she recommended for my two cats. This is by far the easiest supplement to administer (just sprinkle it on) and to store. The cats love the taste of it and will lick their bowls to get the last bits of it.
It looks and smells a lot like Brewer's yeast though yeast is not the main ingredient. But if your dog or cat likes Brewer's yeast, I bet they'll like this too. On the can this supplement is marketed as a way of adding nutrients to processed pet food, but as my vet instructed, it can also be used to supplement other pet diets too.
The cats have been on this powder and raw diet for a couple years now. They are doing very well and have the softest fur as well as consistently healthy bowel movements. It's hard to isolate the effects of the powder but looking at the ingredient list as well as knowing Wysong's good reputation makes me confident to continue to use it. My vet feels the powder is beneficial for both immediate and long term health. I also know that it makes the cats enjoy their food more and that's a pretty great benefit right out of the gate.
