This product looks great, and as a mom who wanted to get a gift for her daughter's seventh birthday, it sounded like a perfect fit (since her five year old sister would also want one of her own fish). It is partially my fault for not doing further research before making the purchase, but after discussing it with a Petco fish professional and doing further internet research, it was made clear to me that ONE Betta fish needs at least ONE GALLON of water If you think a fish is an "easy" pet to start off with like I did, do your research if you want you fish to live. You'll want your kids to learn to do the same before making decisions involving live animals!
