We have blended households and have a dog and a cat that would like to go both inside and outside, and another cat that is an indoor-only cat. We had tried a magnet type of control door and found that neither of our animals could activate it. This door, with its settings for ranges, was easily installed and both the cat and the dog quickly learned how to use it. It has been quiet and hassle free so far. And so far, the indoor cat hasn't followed one of the other animals outside......
