I will be looking for an alternative to this food. I used to buy this in large quantity as a high protein, low fat, no grain option for my diabetic cat. The formula has been changed at least twice apparently for production cost savings that have hurt the quality of the food and are not cost effective to the buyer. First the size of the can was decreased. Second, the concentrated pate formula was changed to a courser product that is less appealing to the cat who now refuses to eat it.
At that point, I stopped buying the course beef product and tried the turkey (which I also no longer will buy), so I cannot speak for the current fat content of the beef can. If the beef product has undergone the same cost saving measures as the turkey product, I would expect it to contain almost 1/4 can of fat filler and 3/4 can of loose fat saturated meat with the price per can remaining the same while the amount of food being drastically decreased (more than 25%)! This amount of fat is not healthy or beneficial to any cat, especially not a diabetic cat.
I am disappointed that production cost of this product has taken priority over quality and health. I am sorry to say I won't buy this any longer.
