I purchased the 3 lb. bag of Great Life Wild Salmon Cat Food at a local specialty pet food retailer. I consulted with the owner of the store before my purchase and read the ingredient list for myself. I felt confident feeding this to my cats, both of which dove into the bowl of Great Life without hesitation. Ingredients are impressive; no grains, no potatoes. Kibble is made with wild green mussels, pumpkin, berries, wild salmon, wild salmon oil, probiotics and a host of good for kitty vitamins required to stay healthy. Think of this kibble as close to raw freeze dried as you can get. The bag it comes in keeps the food optimal. There's a very nutrient rich coating on this kibble that makes my cats go bananas for it. I read the following on the company website.
"... We use freeze dried raw protein with balanced freeze dried organic raw greens, organic freeze dried fruits and vegetables, organic mixed baby sprouts (enzymes) and pre and probiotics. We then enclosed the kibble in wild salmon oil. We have provided all the benefits of a raw food diet without the mess, expense and no refrigeration is needed!"
Great Life is made in the USA at a processor which is not involved in any recalls. It's simply an amazingly good cat food. One star is taken off for the high price.
