Ethical The Wave 12-Inch Double Dish, Pink

Very attractive dish. I needed a 2 part dish because my 2 cats like to eat from each side. I was disappointed because the bowls vere shallow and too small for my 20 & 22 pound male cats to get their heads in to eat to the bottom of the dish.

VeRUS Chicken Pumpkin and Green Lipped Mussel Canned Cat Food

My 6 cats adore this food. Pumpkin is known to help with feline belly issues. I have 2 long-furred cats (hairballs!) and 1 with a sensitive belly. Feeding this wholesome, by-product free food assures me I'm not contributing to anything but their GOOD health. Thank you for a great product, unusual ingredient combo, and perfect sized can. This feeds my 6 just the right amount each. (Some prefer a taste whilst others, several nibbles.)

I've used these flakes for years with great results. Unfortunately, as of November 2012, Ocean Nutrition began shipping out a new recipe for this product. The new ingredient list is not yet posted on the manufacturer's website, which seems a little shady (it is printed on the package label). Anyway, it is now primarily wheat-based, and contains artificial color. It seems less palatable to fish than the old formulation, and makes my protein skimmer overproduce very wet foam for a couple hours after feeding. Further, the product is made in Thailand; there are much better foods made in the USA.
To sum up: substantial recipe change for the worse, with no notice from manufacturer. Land-based, rather than marine-based ingredients. Made overseas.

Pet Kelp Wellness Formula, 8-Ounce

I bought this product simply for the fact that my dog needed a supplement with more fiber in her diet due to her bout of pancreatitis. Well, it solved that problem, but also helped with a number of other things...1) she now seems to LOVE her food and can't wait to eat each night, 2) since we've been adding this as a supplement to her diet, her itching allergies have magically disappeared, despite the fact that she is still eating the same food as before, and 3) not that she had issues with this before, but her poop size is substantially smaller (opposite of what you'd think when she's getting MORE fiber). Guess its helping with her absorption of her food?
love it so much, i ordered both this one and the joint and bone formula for my mom's dog who is older and has a bit of arthritis.

I've fed my pup blue buffalo, but then switched to Pro Plan Select which was cheaper. I was happy to see that her excrement was of the same quality. There does not seem to be much fillers like other dog foods. Her coat is still silky soft and she seems to enjoy it. I highly recommend this product if you don't want to pay holistic food pricing!

We've been using this cat food for our 5 year old cat who has mega colon for nearly 2 years now. Between this food and cisapride, and lactulose (prescription medications) our cat is doing well with this condition for which there is no cure other than risky surgery. She's unable to use miralax, one of the few cats who can't handle it for some reason, just doesn't work for her. Before starting this RC diet, we thought we may lose our girl, or have to put her through the surgery. Now she gives us the odd scare by not going for nearly 48 hours, but her average is around 30 hours which is just purrrrfect thank-you very much!

TIKI Cat Koolina Chicken with Egg in Chicken Consomme (Pack of 12

My 2 year old male cat was eating Wellness canned for most of his life but then got diarrhea so I had to put him on a bland diet of boiled chicken for a little more than a month. I tried switching him back to Wellness but the diarrhea came back so I have decided to try a new food. He never really ate the Wellness food with enthusiasm but loved his boiled chicken so I tried to find something as close as possible to JUST chicken (with the vitamins he needs of course). I've done a ton of research and Tiki Cat came out on top due to its nutrition, grain-free, no preservatives, low ash, etc. I just started switching him to this today, and I am already so impressed with the Tiki Cat food. It literally smells and looks like something we would eat (it is human grade)!
He ate this so fast and loved it so much, I thought he might throw up after. He left some of the boiled chicken behind but each bite of the Tiki Cat is gone. It makes me happy to be feeding him something so healthy that he loves so much.

Contech DrinkBetter Dog Bowl

This is just one of those products that will not work well for everyone. I decided to take a chance on it because our 6 year old Golden Retriever/Standard Poodle mix leaves huge puddles of water from her bowl all down the hall and onto the carpet. Also, she would flip her old bowl upside down spilling what was left in the bowl and causing a very loud banging noise.
So..... We like this bowl. There is a plastic disc that floats at the top of the bowl and creates a very shallow pool of water the dog can drink from. Obviously the dog can dunk it down to get plenty of water but for us, it has significantly reduced the amount of water that gets sloshed around and dribbled on the floor. Our dog has to drink slower and she is forced to take smaller drinks rather than fast, big gulps which is how she used to drink. I'm guessing how well this would work for others would depend entirely on how your dog drinks and how their snout is configured. (Our dog has a retriever snout.) Other things about the bowl: it's fairly small. I think it holds about 3 cups of water so I have to refill it more often than with other bowls. It appears very solid. It is made of plastic but it's thick and I think it would be very difficult for a dog to break it. It also doesn't slide around too much. We have this bowl, along with the Brake Fast food bowl that is often featured as a recommendation with this water bowl, just sitting on a ceramic tile floor. The water bowl does not slide around much at all. I'm a fan of the bowl. If something happened to it I would buy another one.

My Cairn terrier has every allergy imaginable. She is allergic to all meats, to include chicken, turkey, etc, grains, and veggies. This is the only food that her system tolerates. It is worth every dollar that you pay for it since she no longer has to get allergy shots. Plus no more pills. This food is terrific.

IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Container for Treats, 11-12 Quart

When I ordered this I didn't study the photo well enough; it only has a clasp on one side, it has a hinge on the other side. The size & general construction are just what I was looking for, but for simplicity sake, I was expecting it to be like all the other bins out there; to have clasps on both ends.
I am a mechanical engineer and I design plastic components for a living. I'm not certain that the hinge on the one end of this container will hold up to daily use for the design life of this box. So far it's been just fine and it does have a reinforced stop on it to take stess off the vulnerable "axles" that it pivots on, but this is a large lid with a relatively small set of hinges. There is a lot of leverage to tranfer a huge load on those "axles" if it ever gets bumped when open. I hope I'm wrong, but I take great care to not apply any undue force on the lid when it's open.
Like I said, so far so good. Maybe I'm being too conservative; but I wouldn't have made this box with a hinge. The latch handle design is very sturdy, why compromise the robustness of the product to put a far less sturdy hinge on one end? I don't think the hinge makes it a better or more convenient product. It must've been the concept of someone in Marketing; certainly not from a pragmatic engineer. It introduces a vulnerability that doesn't need to be there.

Natural Balance Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Limited Ingredient Diet

I researched foods very carefully when we decided to change over, and we decided to try Natural Balance, duck and potato formula, for our 2 dogs, and our son's 2 dogs.
We found that the pieces were not overly large, with was nice for the senior, and smaller of the 4.
Then, we discovered that they loved it; one, and all. They wouldn't leave the bag alone, and when we tried to change them over slowly, they just picked the Natural Balance out of the bowls, leaving the old food behind.
Even so, none experience the slightest system upset at the changeover, not even the one with the sensitive stomach, and everyone looks good, is acting well, and continues to look forward to their meals. Even the dog who has never eaten a whole bowl of food in a meal since he was a puppy is now regularly doing so.
I can't guarantee the same results for every dog, as each is an individual, but after trying it on 4 different breeds, and age groups, I can say that I'd recommend it highly as worth a try for someone else!

I have big Severums, a huge Oscar, a large Salvini, and a smallish but plucky Convict as well as Raphael and Pictus catfish that LOVE this stuff. I shake the bag and tell them what to expect, and they line up at the top of the tank. They know the pellets sink, so they jockey for position at the top to be able to catch it.
I use it about 5 times a week and also provide other food like bloodworms, tubifex worms, spirulina flakes, various cichlid pellets (sinking or floating), and freeze dried crickets for variety. It is less expensive online than in local stores, so it is affordable.
Most of all, I credit this food as a a valuable replacement for live food. Why would I not want to use live food? 2 reasons. First, most fishes raised as food for other fishes are in bad shape and introduce diseases to your cichlids. (Also, I dislike supporting the barbaric treatment of fishes used as live food by buying them.) Second, this is important if you want a group of cichlids to live (somewhat) peacefully together, for the practice of releasing live fish in tanks for cichlids to chase and hunt for their food promotes predation and territoriality in cichlids. I figure that my cichlids now must adapt to a life in a home aquarium with other fish in a limited space, so I need to calm down their aggressive instincts as much as possible.
I have fed all of my fish since I got them at an inch or so long with this food (broken into smaller bits depending on their size) rather than using live food. I credit this food for encouraging these potentially hostile fish to live together more harmoniously since without live food to chase they have never exercised their hunting instincts, which I suspect would lead them to look at one another as delicious prey. As a result, as I kept getting larger and larger tanks to accommodate their growth my cichlids were able to interact more peacefully with new tank mates from other tanks. While I am not going so far as to claim that peace, love, and understanding reign in my big cichlid tanks, I think that this food helps to diffuse the political situation among the cichlids!
