My vet had me buy a flat of this to feed my cat who had just gotten out of their care for urinary blockage. I didn't really look at it, I just told them to load me up with whatever I needed to take care of him.

When they gave this to me they told me to feed it to him for at least two weeks. The poor guy couldn't even get through a week of this. According to the vet "cats just love this stuff", well not mine. He would eat a couple of mouthfuls, then just quit. We also have another cat in the house so we can't just leave it around waiting for him to consume it whenever he felt the urge.

We feed both our cats a really high quality diet not just the regular kibble crud you find on any pet store shelf. I think that was the problem, since this stuff is made with "pork byproducts" and other scraps that aren't even fit to go on a garbage heap. More than once he threw this up, then finally just flat out refused to eat it. He lost over a pound before I finally just threw my arms up and swapped to a different food with kitty urinary supplements on the side.

My thoughts? If you're going to spend more money (since this stuff is NOT cheap), spend it on a high quality diet that's naturally geared toward urinary health with low magnesium and ash, and acidifiers to help with pH. With this, you're simply paying a lot of money because the label says "prescription" on it.
