A few months ago, while at a local pet food store, one of the people working there suggested FreshPet Vital; after I was asking about premium cat food. It was in the refrigerated section and I had not seen it before.
I thought I'd try it and add it to their dry food. OMG, you should have seen their reaction. They go nuts for it and it's also good for them.
What I failed to notice the first time buying it; it says on the back to use within 7 days of opening it. I had only looked at the expiration date and after opening it, I resealed it and put the bag inside a zip-lock type bag.
Well, after almost 2 weeks, it smelled funny and my cats refused to eat it. Upon return to the same pet store, I mentioned what happened to the girl. She showed me about the 7 days after OPENING it, on the back of the bag. I don't know how I missed it!
So be careful when you get this and watch how long it's been. Now I just add more to their dry food and add less of the dry. If they don't get the FreshPet Vital, they get upset and give me dirty looks! Then it takes a while for them to eat their dry food as they are protesting.
You can also get this at some nation wide non-pet food stores, I just found out. Try it!
